What's Happening at Dover School? Week of Nov. 14-19th

Second Grade News
               The second graders learn new things everyday. Recently, they've been learning about weather and multiplication. To get get into the holiday mood, they'll also be doing some Pilgrim and Thanksgiving activities.

Student Council News
               November 11 was movie night. Gnomeo and Juliet  and  Cars 2 was shown. There were about forty kids who attended movie night. The student council will use all the money made from movie night to bring in an art program. All this month, we are having a food drive all this month to help the Food Pantry with Thanksgiving food. Please donate a box or can of food and bring it to the 5/6 classroom.

Pre-K News
               This week, in the Pre-K, they are learning about dinosaurs. They watch videos and learn songs about dinosaurs too. This week they even took a trip to the school library to see the velociraptor made by Matt Neuman. Every week, they learn about a different letter and this week they are learning about the letter T. Making books, playing counting games, and cooking are some of the things the Pre-K kids enjoy doing. Later in December they will be making gingerbread people.

The Neumanoids
             The 5/6 have been overwhelmed with rehearsals for their play. In math, they are learning about percents and exponents. In social Studie,s they made irrigation devices similar to those in Anicent Mesopotamian. In science, they are learning about desalination. Their class pet's name is Knuffle Bunny.

 The Pre Pre-K
             Mrs. Dix, the Pre-K teacher,just got a new class, the 3 year old Pre-Ks. They are studying bats and dinosaurs. For rewards, they get animal stickers. Because the Pre-K and the the 3 year olds share the same classroom they do similar things but they don't do everything together.






Mr.Degnon's 4/5
           In Mr.Degnon's class the fourth and fifth graders have been studying the Industrial Revolution, a time in history when new inventions where made that changed the world for us today.
          They constructed brush pile shelters for animals that need a home during the winter.They're made with sticks,small logs,moss,bark,twigs,and brush.
           They are working on Power Point Presentations on different topics.
